Omg, the continuous flow of this series made it read like a TV show! The deep love and connection between the characters made for an excellent read and had me at the edge of my seat with anticipation. The intricate way the author had the Sun Glasses as a major prop was just genius! Absolutely loved this whole series! I just found another favorite to add to my list! i was left wanting more but there was no continuity in how the shades got from one story to the next. the story was entertaining as far as it went.
This was a well written suspenseful short story with paranormal elements. Even though this was the first one in the series that I had read, it was fine as a stand alone. I was given this as an ARC by the author for a honest review. I enjoyed the story very much.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading Killer Shades. This story is about Jenna and Kyle. Jenna is in the middle of a divorce from her husband Wayne. She buys a pair of unusual sunglasses and wishes the husband was dead. Next thing she sees is her husband getting ran over. Kyle is a police officer who arrives at the scene and finds out that Wayne is the victim and Jenna witnessed it. This story has great characters and full of twists and turns.
I was given a copy of Killer Shades for a fair review. I loved this fast-paced paranormal mystery, the third in the Shades series. I'm a big fan of this series because of its uniqueness and clever idea. H.D. did not disappoint! This story is about Jenna, who's going through a nasty divorce. She's out with her friend, Marie, to buy a Halloween costume for a party she doesn't want to go to, but because she's committed, she continues. While out shopping, she tries on a pair of sunglasses, all the while telling Marie about how nasty her soon-to-be ex-husband is and wishing he was dead. Deciding she likes the look, she buys the sunglasses, takes off the tags and walks out of the store wearing them. Along the way, there's an accident and it turns out to be her estranged husband who's been killed, and now, Jenna is the lead suspect.
That's when Kyle, a homicide detective in the very precinct handling the husband's death gets involved with the investigation. The only problem is,
Kyle and Jenna were an item long ago and broke up. Kyle's partner doesn't know they were an item, but Kyle's still in love with her and determined to protect her, risking his job, his reputation, and possibly being a co-conspirator in the homicide. He'll do anything to have Jenna back in his life,
the only woman he's ever loved. He doesn't think she'd ever do anything like this, but the police have some pretty convincing evidence to support
their claim. Now Kyle, must weigh his love and belief of her innocence against what the police know to be true. I give this 5 stars. Well done, H.D. Thomson!
This is a fast-paced page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat with great characters, twist, turns, mystery and intrigue. I really like the sizzling chemistry and interaction between Jenna and Kyle. This is the first book I have read by H.D. Thomson but I look forward to reading more from her.

I think Killer Shades was the most well written of all three in this series. I give it 4.5 stars. The storyline was paced really well for the novella length of the book and I loved Kyle. (Read Killer Shades to find out who he is, you won't regret it!) The only small thing which isn't really a negative is that it left me wanting more to the book....I really wanted an epilogue to find out what happened with Kyle and Jenna down the road! So what that means is Killer Shades was so my kind of book that I didn't want it end. Nicely done HD Thomson on an original plot with great romantic characters and just enough suspense to make these fast paced novellas addictive.
